Emma Watson and Kristen Stewart share something in common– both are under pressure to ramp up their games in Hollywood now that their “Twilight” and “Harry Potter” franchises are over. Like Kristen, who appears in the UK edition of GQ, Emma covers the UK and French editions of Elle, and she talks candidly about the need for her to have a certain look. The 21-year-old actress said she does worry about expectations of her as an actress and finds Hollywood “quite scary” for that reason. Emma Watson covers Elle magazines in England and France.
And, no wonder; plastic surgery is a land office business even among Young Hollywood starlets. “I don’t have perfect teeth, I’m not stick thin,” she tells the magazine. “I want to be the person who feels great in her body and can say that she loves it and doesn’t want to change anything.”Still, Watson felt a need to break free from her Harry Potter image and dramatically cropped her hair after filming was done on the last movie.
The move stunned her fans, but sent a clear message. She is determined to make a statement in her own way. “It’s ridiculous that [loving the way you look] seems such an unrealistic goal,” she says.
“I think the actresses who are really successful are the ones who are comfortable in their own skin and still look human.”
This is a big year for Watson, because she has two post-Harry Potter films coming out. She plays a supporting role in “My Week With Marilyn,” which stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe and Kenneth Branagh as Sir Laurence Olivier. But the pressure will really be on for her second movie, “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower,” because she has a starring role.
Being associated with a blockbuster like “Harry Potter” is no guarantee of success in other films, as “Twilight” stars Stewart and boyfriend Robert Pattinson are finding out. Both Watson and Stewart have glammed up their image through magazine photo spreads, and both have shown that they have matured into sultry women.
